Our guests say…
At the Dhow Inn, we've got a mission: to make your stay in Zanzibar the best possible experience. Our island has enough to offer to make you fall in love with the land, but you need the best accommodation to really enjoy it, and we are thoroughly compromised with this task.
That's why we are so happy when our guests leave us with a smile on their face, and tons of good memories for their lives. Here are some opinions for which we're grateful.
Honeymooners will love it…
We made the typical African trip for honeymooners: a week in Tanzania for the safaris and five more days in Zanzibar to relax. But we never thought the "relaxing" part would be the best. And we loved the animals in Ruaha, Serengeti and Mikumi National Parks! But Zanzibar is sooo exotic, and the Dhow Inn is soooo romantic!
We enjoyed the Indian Ocean till the last drop, visited Stone Town (my wife had to see the house where Freddie Mercury was born!) and Jozani park, and spent lots of hours just enjoying the sun and the beach, especially on the afternoons, when the tide is high, and the sea reaches the hotel.
We had a perfect wedding, but our honeymoon trip has been dreamy.

Great choice for the kids
We were reluctant about bringing the kids to Africa. Now we can say bringing them to Zanzibar was the best choice we could make. They had tons of fun in the pools and the beach, and tons of learning, they got amazed by the Red Colobus, the tides and the seaweed plantations, and Prison Island shocked them the most both by its history and by the tortoises.
No need to say we had as much fun, and got amazed and thrilled the same. Our family will always keep a piece of Zanzibar in our hearts. And the Dhow Inn amenities and its caring staff played a not little role in the experience!

Kitesurfing in Paradise
We love kitesurfing, and we've already made a few good trips with this sport in mind: we've practised it in Tarifa (Spain) and Cozumel (Mexico). Zanzibar was our third kite-travel, and this time we brought some old friends with no experience at all. And I can assure Zanzibar is a top-notch place for kitesurfing and Paje beach a little Paradise where to get lost with your board. The beach is pure white, the palm trees around make you feel in the middle of a tropical nowhere, and the water is warm and shallow. Real luxury.
We were told the local winds in this area were perfect for kitesurfing, and indeed they were, both for us the veterans (especially in the afternoons) and our newcomers in the morning!
The Dhow Inn kitesurfing school was a big help for them too, now they love the sport and probably come with us again on our next trip.
So thanks, Zanzibar, thanks Paje, and thanks Dhow Inn!!

Unforgettable experience
We are a group of 4 friends from Spain that try to make an “only-girls” trip as often as our budget can allow it. And for the last three years we couldn’t manage it, so this one had to be a GREAT trip. And it was!!! Fantastic landscape, lovely white beaches, warm waters… snorkelling was SO COOL! And we also loved to sail out with the boat to see the dolphins.
The stay at the Dhow Inn was also ideal: we felt safe and well treated, the staff was always helpful, and the rooms are beautiful, kind of a tropical-minimalistic style, it was cool! The food was also delicious, with many options to choose, something important with my friends because we’ve got very different likings.
It has been an unforgettable week. I don’t mind to wait another three years if our next trip is so perfect as this one was.
